Paper Walls is a psychological horror-thriller that I consider my first short film. My goal was to create a meditation on violence and its rippling repercussions on the psyche. With an ambitious script and zero budget, my first foray into short film directing as a young filmmaker was a challenging but exciting one.

While I've grown considerably in my talents since making this film, I still find it fascinating. It gives a glimpse into some of my early drama and horror sensibilities, which carry over into my darker work as a writer/director today. Knowing your roots is extremely important, and this is a great reminder to me.

The project secured official selections and a nomination for “Best Nevada Film Maker” at the Reno-Tahoe International Film Fest.
